Many lives have been saved and serious injury avoided by wearing a safety helmet manufactured to safety standard EN397. Although there is no legislation governing the expected lifespan of safety helments, they should be replaced every 5 years and
immediately if they suffer any form of impact, damage, cuts or scratches. A life could be at risk and you and your business could be faced with prosecution and very expensive compensation claims if you fail to replace a damaged safety helmet and someone is injured or killed as a result.
